Art District, Bars and Movies…

Busy, but fun times! We started last week by hitting the Art District with Linda & Amanda. We all love thrifting and the Art District is perfect for it! But first, coffee, always! Tried Iwana Specialty Coffee Roasters who get their beans from Colombia. It’s owned by Colombian sisters too I believe. Give them 5 Puma’s out of 5 for the coffee!

Then shopping and hit a hydration station in between shopping too 🙂

There’s a lot of street art too… Hence the name I guess 🙂

Took them to Stray Pirate too, which is a pirate themed bar. Important to stay hydrated when it’s hot outside!

Checked out a smoke shop and did an impromptu photoshoot in there! Never waste a cool spot to show off some poses!

Amanda said she had a restaurant she wanted to try out. It’s called Palate and it was superb! Linda and I tried the beef tartar and Amanda ate short ribs and it was all really good! They even threw in some cotton candy. I went for it faster than an unwanted fart slipping out, until I realized I’m not consuming sugar and put it down!

On the sugar note, I’ve been sugar free for a week now! I tried to negotiate with myself at the store yesterday, telling myself I could have some chocolate for doing so good. Had to use all of my willpower to leave the chocolate on the shelf and walk away! Puma vs chocolate 1-0. Like first time ever!

It was a 9h day in the Art District and we left stuffed, tired and with some great new outfits!

Made Linda work some too and she is great at shooting pics and videos! Have more fun stuff to edit so stay patient 🙂

Also some photos from Greg in a borrowed pajama 🙂

Some things never change. Like me and Hunter napping 🙂 Got to keep some routines even when you have friends over! Heating up in Vegas now and Hunters new fav spot is at the next door neighbors bushes. From there he can keep an eye out on our street!

Also tried to organize this place up a little. Got waaaaay too much stuff and things are all over the place. One neighbor moved and dropped off 4 bags of clothes for me to check out in case I need something. Of course I do. And for clarification, I don’t need anything, but I want hahhaaaa… My organization is ongoing and probably will be for a while. I’m an expert at starting things, then leaving it midway through to just start at something else 🙁

Showed Linda and Amanda Golden Tiki Bar too. Very kitch-y interior, fun drinks and great finger food. Oh, and I would definitely want the wall paper they have in their restroom at my place 🙂

After we went to a speakeasy place called Mas Por Favor. Cool bar and they have the best tacos. Not the regular kind, but with a twist. Great night!

There also been cooking at home. I have to find the pics of us making Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, served with lingonberry jam from IKEA. Sooo good and we invited Angel, Ashley and Jennifer over and ours definitely beat IKEA’s balls! Linda enjoying the Vegas sun with Hunter, and me trying to convince Linda that people would pay to have my feet in their face LOL….

We watched ‘The Surfer’ with Nicolas Cage. Weird, but we liked it. Had to ask Gemini about the movie after because we didn’t totally get it, but it’s supposed to be left for interpretation…

Also watched ‘Ballad of a Small Player’ with Colin Farrell. Some people said they think it’s a bit slow, but we liked it a lot!

Watched ‘The Rip’ too with Matt Damon & Ben Affleck. We liked this one too. Not the greatest, but would still recommend it 🙂

I also finished the book ‘The Widows’ by the Swedish author Pascal Engman. Lots of characters and twists, and very exciting. Think I will have to check some other books out by him.

Unfortunately Linda flew back to Sweden today 🙁 Like always when someone visits and stays over it feels so empty after! One of the most easy going and kind people I know. Miss you already Linda!

I played a couple of hours of pickleball today. Playing in a small tournament at the gym on Friday. Luckily I have a super good guy playing as my partner, so I count on him making up for my f*ck ups 😉

There might be a little overnight getaway coming up too, but need to plan a little. What’s happening in your life?

Hugs, Puma

Cortisone, Gym, Feeling Great…

Was down when the week started because of my shoulders hurting! Looked up an orthopedic clinic and got an appointment for the next day. They did normal x-rays and then an orthopedic doctor (at least I think that is what he was) examined me.

I thought I had frozen shoulders, but he was pretty sure it is inflammation in my rotator cuffs. He had 3 solutions and the quickest relief offered was cortisone shots in the area. Since I’m pretty freaked out by needles I had to call Angel and get some advice and pep talk. Also they pulled in a poor nurse who’s hand I had to hold while I was crying like a baby. Turns out that it actually wasn’t that bad. Just me being a cry baby!

Had to inspect my ‘stab’ wounds when I got home…

The great news is that it was instant relief! Next thing was to get a trainer who knows how to strengthen the area and found a great guy, who has pretty much massacred my shoulders 3 times since then. Oh, I also have to do exercises at home 2-3 times a day. “The more rehab work you do, the faster they will get better” are his words , so I’m staying on top of it! And he also said that I probably don’t even have inflammation, just my fibers or whatever he called them have gotten unaligned or something like that.

Being pain free has also given me new energy and focus at the gym. No pickleball or heavy lifting yet, but have done more cardio, mobility, and legs and feel great!

My Swedish friend Cathrine moved to Florida 🙁 She spent a night with me and Hunter before I dropped her off at the airport. Took her out on the trail here and Hunter took full advantage to receive extra cuddles…

The good thing about hitting the gym is that it is also easier to eat healthy. I try to eat a lot of protein and greens. Hardest is not to eat chips, ice cream or chocolate by night. Instead I go for fruit, cheese, blueberries or beef jerky and it has been going pretty good 🙂

Until Angel texts asking if I want ice cream at Salt & Straw. Obviously it’s a yes! Made her snap a pic of me and this cat. When no real ones are around, I even settle for a drawn one 🙂

Done my weekly share of work too 🙂

And if you crave more ‘personal’ time with me, they just relaunched my Fleshlight wohooo! This is the number 1 selling toy for males and I heard through rumors, that it’s amazing heheheee… To get your own one – fleshlight.sjv.io/LKYD1L

Last night I was invited to an old friend’s house for tacos, sangria and pool 🙂 Her name is Anastasia Pierce and she is a sweetheart! We worked together ages ago in LA and so happy I found her in Vegas now. As always when I get excited, I forget to take pics. I only managed to snap a pic of this amazing pool floatie constellation hahahaaa…

I just finished watching the series ‘Sugar’ with Colin Farrell. A caption from online that I think describes it very accurately – ‘Sugar is visually exquisite and an irresistible treat for lovers of classic film noir’. I really enjoyed it and can recommend it if this is your vibe 🙂

Also finished both seasons of ‘Hand of God’ with Ron Perlman. Really liked this series too! I’ll let you do your own search on it, but can say I enjoyed it a lot!

Finished the first book of ‘The Poppy War’ by R.F. Kuang. Liked it well enough that I just started the second book in the series too. Not a page turner, but pretty exciting…

This morning I also booked my yearly hike with my sister in August. I think this will be our 5th or 6th year hiking. Haven’t dared to book it earlier because of the shoulders, but now we’re going!!! I’m so excited about this! Our longest hike so far, 160km long Padjelanta Trail up north in Sweden. Supposedly one of the most beautiful trails in Sweden.

Next weeks forecast is taking my car in to get a quote about some oil pan change. More shoulder rehab, a birthday celebration and hopefully check out an animal sanctuary I found out about at the pool party last night. Would love to volunteer and spend time around animals 🙂

Leave you with a pic of Hunter in his (for the moment) favorite toy, a long box that I made holes in that he attacks from 🙂

Hope your summer is progressing smoothly. What’s the temperature where you are at? Here in Vegas it’s hot as in my butt crack after cardio!

Until next week!
